INDOSAT BTS LEBARAN
INDOSAT will deploy 100 BTS in Central Java and Yogyakarta to anticipate the IEDUL FITRI Festival in October this year.

DIGITAL Broadcasting
Indonesian government is studying the digitalization broadcasting that would include TV and Radio. The government says that by 2015 the broadcasting has been all based on digital system and no more analog system.

Indonesia 3G Hutchison
3G systems have been checked tested and certified for 3G operation. XL and TELKOMSEL are to follow. However XL plans to go 3G commercial launch in November 2006.

Mobile TV Service
Mobile 8, the CDMA 2000 1x mobile operator, provides mobile TV service in their network. The infrastructure Mobile 8 have so far have been prepared and equipped to serve video steaming.

HAIER group will enter cell phone market in Indonesia with GSM, CDMA and 3G cell phones.

As part of the government effort to widen the broadcasting scope of television all through the Indonesian regents, the government planned to set up the budget about 20 million UERO to build the new station of the television transmitter from year of 2007 till 2008. The budget that was planned this was aimed to develop approximately 37 new units of the transmitter station including among them the procurement of equipment, Antenna, Coaxial Cable, of Genset, AVR, UPS and other equipment with newest technology.

To enable more Indonesians to have access to the ICT service, the government is currently carrying out two major projects in the country -- Universal Service Obligations (USO) Program and National Fiber Optic Backbone (NFOB) Project. Under the USO Program scheduled for implementation from 2003 to 2010, the government hopes to provide telephone access for all villages in Indonesia by the year 2010. The NFOB Project is scheduled to complete a preliminary study in 2006, a roadmap design and master plan in 2006-2007, and installation of the fiber optical ring from 2008 to 2020. The total cost of the NFOB Project is approximately 1.6 billion U.S. dollars, of which 1.06 billion is expected to come from the private sector. (www.mincom.co.id - 2006).

The Exelcomindo Pratama, PT (XL) was ready to launch the service 3G together in five cities in Indonesia in August or in September 2006. To develop the network 3G, the company budget for around 80 million US$.
